Al Shuckburugh Grammy Award Winning Songwriter

West London native Al Shuckburugh (aka Shux) has come a long way since his early beginnings experimenting with a four track recorder. Al’s first work as a producer was on UK rapper Sway’s Mercury Prize nominated album, including lead track ‘Little Derek’. He then toured with Lily Allen as her MD for the best part of a year, which ended in a chance encounter with Lupe Fiasco in a London club. This meeting lead to Al producing and writing ‘Hi Definition’ (feat. Snoop) on Lupe’s ‘The Cool’. As well as nurturing emerging British artists including I Blame Coco (Island) and Rox (Rough Trade),Al then went onto explore writing with other song writers. Such as John Hill, Prescilla Renea, Wayne Wilkins and Andrew Frampton and Steve Kipner leading to cuts on Brit award winner Tinie Tempah’s debut album and Cheryl Cole’s second album ‘Messy Little Teardrops’. His biggest triumph to date is co-writing and producing ‘Empire State of Mind’ with both Jay Z and Alicia Keys earning Shux a Grammy earlier this year for “Best Rap Song”.
