Helienne Lindvall Music Media Writer, The Guardian

Helienne is an award winning professional songwriter, musician, and music media writer for the Guardian. Born and raised in Sweden, she moved to New York City in her early twenties, working as a session singer, recording artist and performer. Later relocating to London, she signed a publishing deal with BMG Publishing Scandinavia, collaborating with other writers including Jörgen Elofsson, Steve McEwan, Phil Thornalley, Steve Booker and Roger Sanchez.

The Guardian recruited her to blog the ‘X Factor’ in 2007, leading to her weekly blog, ‘Behind The Music’. Since then she’s been examining all areas of the music business, appearing on Sky News, the BBC and Irish national radio discussing the issues facing artists and songwriters in these rapidly changing times.
