Julian Wall is Director of Independent Member Services and International Events at the BPI. In his current position, Julian is responsible for issues concerning the independent label membership of the trade body across the whole range of BPI activities. On the international side, the BPI’s participation in events such as MIDEM, SXSW, POPKOMM and other overseas trade events in which the UK industry participates are also part of Julian’s portfolio. In addition, the BPI International office organises – in conjunction with government body UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) – annual trade missions for UK music companies to Los Angeles (Sync Licensing) and Japan. Prior to joining the BPI in 2008, Julian held international marketing and promotion positions at a range of record companies including Sanctuary Records, Sony (RCA & Arista labels) and Universal (MCA and Phonogram/Mercury).
